The Lehman Lady Lobos soccer team lost a tough game against the Lake Travis Lady Cavaliers, who took the match 4-0.
While the Lady Lobos started strong, Lehman missed several opportunities and failed to capitalize on its chances. The team struggled to keep up the pace for the entire game.
The Lady Lobos had the first chance to put the ball in the net when Pamela Lasprilla made a run down the line. She took it all the way into the penalty box and took a good shot on net, but the goalkeeper for Lake Travis handled the shot and made the save.
Minutes later, Lake Travis got the ball just outside of the 18-yard box. Katie Hearn took a shot and beat the Lady Lobos’ keeper to make it 1-0.
Lake Travis struck again three minutes later. A long shot from Lady Cavs’ Sydney Sanders hit the back of the net.
In less than 15 minutes, the Lady Lobos found themselves down 2-0.
The score in the first half could have had a wider gap if it weren’t for the defense of Lehman’s Alexis Sanchez and Brittany Avona, along with the goalkeeping of Maya Erwin.
Lake Travis continued to pour on the goals in the second half.
Lady Cavalier Alyssa Baena put the ball in the net just five minutes into the second half to give Lake Travis a 3-0 lead.
Lady Lobos’ Lasprilla had another chance at the goal after juking several defenders and the goalkeeper. However, when presented a chance at a goal, she missed the net just a bit wide and the score remained the same.
Lake Travis put another ball into the net with just a few minutes to play to make the score 4-0.
“We had some moments and opportunities on our counterattacks, like we worked on, that we didn’t finish,” Lehman head coach Nauri Garcia said.
Lasprilla was proud of her team, minus a few things.
“I think it was little things that we could’ve made better. Little mistakes. But, I think we held ourselves pretty well against a good team like that,” she said.
