Caregivers class at Onion Creek
Onion Creek Senior Center will be hosting a new class for family caregivers on Mondays Sept. 21 through Oct. 26 from 9:30-11 a.m. Karla and Richard Sansbury will lead small group discussion classes on the progressive impact of dementia and the skills needed to manage daily caregiver responsibility with your loved one. The six class sessions are for non-professional caregivers who are caring for a person with dementia. It will help develop good care management tools through group discussions, skill building, problem solving, assertive training, and brainstorming. Learn to understand dementia, develop strategies for effective caregiving and adopt a more strategic outlook. This class is sponsored by St. David’s Foundation and administered by AGE of Central Texas at no cost to participants. This is the third offering of classes in the CaregiverU series sponsored by St. David’s Foundation and administered by AGE of Central, TX.
