A Kyle man was arrested earlier this month after he was identified as the person who sexually assaulted a child on multiple occasions.
Hays County authorities arrested Carlos Garcia, 40, of Kyle, who was charged with continuous sexual assault of a child, which is a first-degree felony.
Garcia was booked into the Hays County Jail and is being held on $250,000 bond.
According to an arrest affidavit, a Hays County magistrate issued an Emergency Protection Order for the arrest of Garcia due to the intense nature of the offense.
According to the affidavit, a female child victim under the age of 14 identified Garcia as her abuser. She had told her mother that the abuse started in March 2011 when she was only 10 years old.
Officer Mike Andrews with the Hays County Sheriff’s Department reviewed the forensic interview with the child victim and an offense report written by a Hays County deputy about the incidents.
According to the report, there were ten total incidents between 2011 and 2013.
A trial date has not been set for Garcia.
