KYLE — The Kyle Police Department and San Marcos Police Department arrest Jubenal Flores Sanchez, 18, of Hays County in connection with a fatal fentanyl overdose case involving a minor.
Sanchez was arrested Monday, Feb. 27, following an investigation involving the delivery of fentanyl and the death of a child in Hays County. He was linked to this death through the investigation of various social media accounts and other data obtained through a search warrant.
Sanchez is charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a third-degree felony, and Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Upon review of the entire case, the District Attorney’s Office will assess whether additional charges will be forthcoming, as a result of the fatal fentanyl overdose.
Kyle Police Department and San Marcos Police Department have been diligently investigating cases involving fentanyl and fentanyl-related overdoses. Both departments work together in narcotics investigations in both cities and in the surrounding area.
“Our community is safer due to the hard work and commitment our police officers and detectives are putting into investigating fentanyl cases,” Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett said. “Their commitment to these types of investigations will continue as we all work together to keep our loved ones safe and stop the spread of this dangerously fatal drug.”
