Superintendent issues fitness challenge
Hays CISD Superintendent Jeremy Lyon issued a challenge to all district employees: exercise and earn prizes. The “Superintendent’s Challenge” has two goals: get staff moving for preventative health and become good role models for students.
This program is part of Hays CISD’s Coordinated School Health initiative.
The challenge runs from Feb. 1 through April 11. Participants earn points for the amount of time they exercise and their workout intensity. Staff will track their numbers using a new program on the district’s intranet.
Each time an employee meets his or her weekly goals of at least 500 points, they qualify to win randomly generated prizes.
All weekly winners will be entered into a grand prize drawing. Lyon will announce the grand prize winner after the Chapa Middle School 5K on April 14.
