Local residents have the power to save money in homes and businesses, according to the Pedernales Electric Cooperative.
“Many people don’t really know the best way to cut costs on utilities,” said Diana Gonzales, PEC program representative.
That’s why the power utility is hosting its first ever Do-It-Yourself Power to Save Workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 21 at the local PEC office at 1810 FM 150 W. in Kyle.
Area residents can stop by the workshop to learn about money saving ideas, ask questions of PEC and City of Kyle personnel, and get tools for energy savings. Gonzales said the main topics are MyUse Energy Analyzer, lighting meter displays, weatherization and billing.
PEC invited Kyle’s Public Works Utility Coordinator Jason Biemer to be at the workshop. Kyle water utility customers can talk with Biemer about water conservation, low flow fixtures, and money saving ideas. They can also ask about their water bills.
Workshop attendees can win prizes. Light refreshments will also be provided. The event is free and open to the public.
