Promote your business through a tax deductible donation and further the valuable mission of The Burke Foundation through a link at the auction site, or by contacting the auction sponsor, Dena Dupuie of DVine Marketing of Driftwood at (512) 422-2594,  [email protected] , or by going to www.dvinemarketing.com.  Mrs. Dupuie says, “Our family feels blessed to have adopted a daughter who was in need, and we are honored to support Burke because they have done incredible things for children faced with circumstances beyond our imagination.”

Generous local support has helped to enable the multi-faceted Burke Foundation to offer care for Texas children removed from their home environments due to abuse, neglect, or problems with the law for the past 37 years. Burke Center Case Managers are available 24 hours a day to respond to emergency calls from state workers to facilitate the immediate placement of children; who despite having experienced abusive and neglectful circumstances,  are usually quite traumatized by their abrupt removal from biological family members; with foster families who have the desire to open their hearts and homes to give children a safe place to live.  Burke Center Adoption and Foster Family Services carefully recruits, screens, trains, supervises, and supports qualified families to make this service available.

When a child is unable to be reunited with their birth family, Burke Center Adoption and Foster Family Services provides permanent homes to Texas children whose parental rights have been legally terminated.  While allowing children to grieve the loss of their biological families; the Burke Center works with foster families to empower and equip them to be supportive and understanding of this loss.  Believing that every child deserves a loving family to call their own;  the Center provides the required home study and pre-service training to families wishing to adopt children currently in the state’s permanent conservatorship, and assists these families with presenting portfolios to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to be considered for adoption. Once the child is placed, the Burke Center for Youth provides case management and support to the family and child until the consummation day in court.

The Burke Center also provides services to boys struggling with significant behavioral and emotional problems through the Pathfinder’s Ranch Residential Treatment Center in Driftwood, Texas.  This program, for boys aged 11 through 18 who have been unable to have success living in a family environment, provides a very structured setting, constant supervision, therapy, and education with a goal of helping these boys learn to have successful relationships with others and preparing them for independent living.
