HAYS at SAN MARCOS
San Marcos hasn’t won a game since 2009 and with the likes of Steele, Judson, San Antonio-Wagner and New Braunfels High looming in the Rattlers’ district. It would be a shock to see them win a 25-5A game this year.
Beating Hays would be a major accomplishment and would make the season a success for San Marcos players, who would love nothing more than to knock off their county rival, and for interim Rattler head coach James Chase. Despite the fact San Marcos went 0-10 last season, Hays can’t take the Rattlers lightly, especially if the Rebels are going to insist on squandering multiple scoring chances like they did against Akins and Anderson.
The feeling here is Hays will look sharper than it has all year Friday night and will leave Bobcat Stadium with some Snakeskin boots.
