SWAT called out to Hays County residence
A Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) was called out to a Buda area residence Monday evening involving a mental patient, authorities say.
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office said that a 51-year-old man refused to exit his home at the 1100 block of Live Oak Loop after his wife called the police, worried about his mental state.
Officers successfully took the man into custody without incident, the sheriff’s office says.
Police: Boyfriend abuses woman in Kyle apartment
Police are searching for a 26-year-old man for the alleged aggravated assault of his 24-year-old girlfriend inside her Kyle apartment.
On Saturday, police were called out to the Vantage at Plum Creek apartment complex, where the woman claimed that her boyfriend grabbed her by the throat and threw her across the bedroom and against the bed frame.
Police reported that the woman had a scratch on her neck and red marks on her arm but no serious injuries. The suspect, described as a 26-year-old black male, fled the scene before police arrived, police say.
Former employee targets store
A former employee of the Target store in Kyle is suspected of stealing almost $2,000 in merchandise, police say.
The theft was reported Monday after store officials say that a former employee, described as a white 22-year-old female, stole numerous items over time from the store.
No arrests have been made.
No charges in Buda brawl
Buda police will not file charges in an east Buda brawl that occurred last week, Buda Police Chief Bo Kidd said.
At around 1:50 a.m. on April 18, police were sent to the 2000 block of Cambria Drive, where at least five people were believed to be fighting.
The incident began as a verbal altercation between two women and turned into a scuffle with three women and two men, who were all drinking alcohol, said Kidd, who described the incident as mutual combat.
No serious injuries were reported and the case has been forwarded to the Hays County District Attorney’s Office for possible indictments.
