Odds & Ends

Everybody is looking to the skies for rain. The oat fields, the pastures and hay fields are trying to survive with the cattle nibbling what they can find.

How long has it been since you went trick-or-treating? I have never gone. Living out on a farm and what seemed miles from town as a child, we never knew of “such a thing.” Not actually going trick-or-treating this year, but sitting on the sidelines near a haunted house was more fun than a “barrel of haunts.” So many happy, eager and neat-costumed young folks made this the best Halloween ever for me. Glad to see safety lights, groups of young folks and many, many parents accompanying their children to make it safe. Hope all had as much fun as I did. Thanks for the memories.

Well, it is deer hunting season already. The deer population has had a hard time surviving this year. Water and feed was hard to find. Many hunters hauled water and feed to their leases.

Thanks to all who have sent cards, phone calls, prayers, etc. to Raymond. He is in Legend Oaks Rehab in Kyle and trying hard to walk again.
