Kyle man rams vehicle in feud

A Kyle man was arrested after he used his vehicle to strike another vehicle during an altercation Monday night, authorities say.

Jose Federico Martinez, 41, of Kyle, chased the other vehicle driven by a 31-year-old man and hit it twice following a verbal row between the men about 8 p.m. at a home in the 300 block of Foster Place, just east of Kyle, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Authorities say that Martinez is currently in a relationship with the other man’s ex-wife. Martinez has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison.

Martinez has since been released from Hays County Jail on a $10,000 bond, court records show.

Indictment for Buda man who shot wife

A 25-year-old Buda man who shot his wife in the hand during an argument in March that led to a SWAT team surrounding their home was indicted last week, court records show.

Police originally thought Anthony Saucedo had barricaded himself in a Suffield Drive home with his two children but later arrested him in another location away from the home.

An arrest affidavit says that his wife was leaving him because of his constant drug abuse, but when he got her alone in one of the bedrooms, he pulled out a shotgun and said that he would kill her. She grabbed the phone and called 911 when he slapped the phone out of her hand. A struggle took place with the gun still in Saucedo’s hand, which went off hitting her in the hand.

Saucedo was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison. His rap sheet shows more than a dozen other offenses in Hays County, including marijuana possession, evading arrest and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

The woman, who was transported to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, was expected to recover from her wounds, family members said.

Saucedo remains in custody at Hays County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
