Fleeing minor gets tasered
A 15-year-old boy was tasered after he fled from deputies during a warrant service Thursday in Kyle, authorities say.
Hays County Sheriff’s deputies were serving a warrant at a home in the 100 block of Shasta Cove around 4:25 p.m. when the boy took off running from the backyard, a sheriff’s office spokesperson said.
Deputies gave chase and used a taser to apprehend the boy, the spokesperson says.
The boy, described as Hispanic, suffered minor injuries during the arrest. San Marcos Emergency Medical Services transported him to Seton Medical Center Hays for treatment due to the taser’s barbs, a San Marcos EMS official said.
A warrant for evading arrest is still active for the minor, the sheriff’s spokesman said.
No such thing as a free lunch
Three counterfeit $20 bills were used by students to buy lunch at Simon Middle School Thursday afternoon, authorities say.
Once the bills were used, the cafeteria manager discovered that the bills were fraudulent. The suspects, who were seventh grade students, were identified and then paid for their meals in cash, a Hays County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said.
The bills were placed into evidence and no charges were filed, the spokesperson says.
