SM police search for armed robbers
The San Marcos Police Department is searching for two men they say robbed an interstate-side convenience store at gunpoint shortly after midnight on Sunday, Sept. 26.
A man entered the Quix store at 1004 N. Interstate 35 at about 12:10 a.m., police say, and pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the clerk, demanding money from the cash register.
Given an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled the store in a small, silver sports utility vehicle, possibly a Chrysler Pacifica. The vehicle had a newer-style seven-digit Texas license plate, police say.
The armed robber was described as a black or Hispanic male of average build, about 5’10” to six feet tall, wearing a plain black hoodie sweatshirt. He had a light colored bandana or cloth covering his face. He wore light colored gloves, long denim shorts, ankle high socks and tennis shoes.
There is no description available of the driver of the getaway vehicle, police say.
Anyone with information is asked to call Hays County CrimeStoppers at 1-800-324-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous, CrimeStoppers officials say, and are eligible for a $1,000 reward if their call leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspects.
Sexual assault of teen reported in Buda
A 14-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted on the night of Dec. 15 at an undisclosed location, authorities say.
A student at Dahlstrom Middle School, the girl reported being raped to school administrators on Dec. 16, a Hays County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said.
The girl could not remember the exact details of the incident but believed that she was drugged. The incident continues to be under investigation, the spokesperson said.
