Hays showing impressive sales tax numbers


Aubrey Dale “Blue” Lowden, our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011.


Born in Buda, Texas September 14, 1932, Aubrey had been a resident of Central Texas most of his life, residing in Wimberley the last four months. Aubrey’s trade was an excavating contractor, but his love was his fiddle playing.  He and his band “Aubrey Lowden and The Texas Swing Boys” played in the Austin area and throughout Central Texas. His other loves were his horses, talking and visiting with his friends.  He will be remembered as a true friend, hard worker and most of all his love for entertaining while playing his fiddle.


He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Lowden, parents, Wiley and Mamie Lowden, brother-in-law, J.F. Glosson and sister, Connie Shanley, two step daughters, Evelyn and LaLonnie Braswell.


He is survived by his companion, Judy Gillespie of Pineville, LA.; children, Dale Lowden and wife Lanette of Wimberley; Michael Lowden of Houston; Gayle Carman and husband Larry of The Colony; Darrel Lowden and wife Debbie of Wimberley; Becky Lowden-Knight and husband Tommy of Buda; sister Cleo Glosson of Dripping Springs; and brother Bob Lowden and wife Sherry of Manchaca; 12 grand children;19 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family.


Funeral services were held February 4th at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle and followed by graveside services at the Masonic Cemetery in Austin.
