DEL VALLE — On Friday, Oct. 27, the Tigers traveled to take on the Del Valle High School Cardinals at Veterans Memorial Stadium. After a scoreless first quarter, and a sideline pep talk, the Tigers came alive in the second quarter.
Tiger running back Jack Tyndall (No. 18) scored the first touchdown of the game on an 83-yard run.
The Tigers defensive unit made two interceptions and scored on both. The final score of the second quarter came when Tiger quarterback Maddox Maher (No. 5) hit wide receiver Kyle Koch (No. 6) for a 16-yard pass and touchdown. The halftime score was Tigers 28, Cardinals 0.
At the start of the second half, quarterback Jack Williams completed a 55-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Reid (No. 2). The third quarter ended with a score of Tigers 38, Cardinals 3.
The Tigers started the fourth quarter with an 11-yard run by running back Jaceton Gotta (No. 46) and the final touchdown of the game was made by wide receiver Jaden Hastie (No. 23) on a 3-yard run.
The Tiger defense held the Cardinals to 100 yards rushing, seven yards passing and nine first downs. The Tiger defense caused three fumbles and made three interceptions.
The defensive stars for the Tigers were: Gabe Quintana with three tackles and two assists; Tomsen Vickery with two tackles and five assists; Landon Requard and Luca Picucci had two tackles and four assists each.
The final home game and senior walk will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3 against the Anderson High School Trojans.
