The future of Mima’s Tacos is family
WIMBERLEY — Mima’s Tacos (formerly Mima’s Kitchen) has been serving Wimberley breakfast, tacos and lunch plates for the last 27 years. Now that Mima herself, Helen Sauceda, has decided to retire and pass the business down to her son David and his wife Melissa, the tradition going for generations to come.

DSISD voters approve $223.7 million bond

DRIPPING SPRINGS — Dripping Springs voters passed a $223.7 million bond to keep up with the district’s growth during the May 6, 2023 election. Voters also decided who would fill the DSISD Board of Trustees positions and whether or not to pass North Hays County Emergency Service District No. 1’s Proposition A.

— On May 1, several students in the Hays CISD fine arts programs were recognized in the company of friends and family at the Performing Arts Center for their commitment to continue their education in the arts at the collegiate level.

Lehman High School Decision Day 2023
PHOTOS COURTESY OF HAYS CISD Whether it’s continuing on to college or a university, a trade school, enlisting in the military or even just readying to enter the workforce, Lehman High School seniors were eager to celebrate the next phase of their educational careers during Decision Day 2023 on May 1. This annual event, led by Lehman Principal Karen Zuniga and the Lobo administrative and counseling staff, was held in celebration of National College Decision Day, which is typically the deadline for prospective college students to accept admission to their school of choice prior to the fall semester. This year, more than 70 Lobo seniors participated in this always emotional and joyous ceremony.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial replica visits Kyle
— Dozens of war veterans walked in silence through the flag-lined sidewalk as they hugged each other and spoke of the 20 years that forever changed them. The city of Kyle hosted an opening ceremony for The Wall That Heals, a Vietnam Veterans Memorial replica and mobile education center, on the morning of May 4.
