BUDA — Parents across Hays CISD are divided over the district’s new attendance policy, which states that a student could be unenrolled if they are absent without contact for five days. The policy was adopted by the board of trustees on Aug. 28.

Hays County League of Women Voters to host National Voter Registration Day events
— The League of Women Voters (LWV) of Hays County announced it will be participating in National Voter Registration Day (NVRD), a nationwide, nonpartisan effort to register hundreds of thousands of voters on Tuesday, Sept. 19. The League will also be registering voters throughout the month and will be available to assist voters who wish to register or update their registration if they have moved. Oct. 10 is the deadline to register or update your registration.
