Kyle City Council voted to not bring a bond for the indoor sportsplex at its Aug. 6 meeting, following a discussion on potential phasing and funding.

By Brittany Kelley KYLE — Kyle City Council voted 6-0 at a special meeting on Aug. 3 to amend ordinance 1231, which discusses policies for the city credit card and reimbursement for council members.

At a special meeting held on Saturday, July 27, Kyle City Council heard a presentation and held a discussion on the proposed FY 202425 budget ahead of its scheduled adoption in September.

KYLE — Kyle City Council approved resolutions to purchase several downtown properties for a total sum of $4.45 million at a special meeting held on July 24.

KYLE — On July 16, Kyle City Council heard discussions on the future of the Sportsplex and the prospect of a local favorite, Hays Co. Bar-B-Que, coming to town.

KYLE — Hill Country Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Center is partnering with Hays CISD, Hays County and city of Kyle to establish a Juvenile Behavioral Health Program. The partnership comes after Kyle City Council awarded the solicitation to increase access to mental health services to the organization in January 2024.

At its July 2 meeting, Kyle City Council approved 4-3 to bring back an item at a future meeting that could place a non-binding proposition on the November ballot, which would allow residents to vote whether council should continue to have the same access to the city’s health insurance as a full-time employee, as it was passed on April 2.

KYLE — Kyle City Council held a discussion at its July 2 meeting regarding whether city council credit cards should be eliminated. Ultimately, the cards will be continued, but staff is directed to bring back an analysis on council traveling habits for the upcoming budgeting process.

KYLE — During the June 8 special meeting, Kyle City Council made several decisions to help bring the Kyle Sportsplex to fruition.

KYLE — Kyle City Council discussed the potential rezoning of land off of FM 150 and IH-35 at length during the June 4 meeting and, ultimately, approved the item on the first out of two readings.

KYLE — At its May 22 meeting, Kyle City Council approved a resolution authorizing the award of the “Increase Access to Mental Health Services for Residents Under 18” solicitation to Hill Country Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Center (HCMHDD).

At the May 7 meeting, Kyle City Council approved a resolution for an interlocal water-sharing agreement with the city of San Marcos, marking the third agreement within the past two years.
