Just as last year, the city of Kyle will be celebrating the 4th of July with a fireworks show launched from Plum Creek Golf Course. New this year is a free pre-show celebration at the PCGC Clubhouse. The Kyle Masonic Lodge will be accepting a $3 parking fee to park at the golf course for the evening. The April Hall Band will be playing at the clubhouse from 6-9 p.m. No outside food or beverages will be allowed, but you may purchase food, drink and beer at the clubhouse. The public is invited to the golf course’s clubhouse to enjoy the music.
When it gets dark enough, around 9:30 p.m., the July 4th fireworks show will launch from the driving range. Find a spot early enough to see the tall water tower that is next to the Hays CISD PAC on Kohler’s Crossing. If you can see the water tower, you will have a great view of the fireworks. Parking in paved parking lots around the intersection of Kohler’s and Kyle Parkway are the safest locations. Approximately 20 minutes of “ooohs and ahhhs” will cap off a day of fun in Kyle.

For those that wanted late evening fishing in Kyle, Lake Kyle’s summer hours are being revised effective July 1. Sunday through Wednesday hours will be from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday hours will be 7 a.m.-9 p.m. This gives those anglers longer hours to hook the big bass. Three new fishing nooks are now accessible and the fishing pier will be ready soon.
The newly completed nature trail around the lake gives walkers and hikers one and a half miles of multi-surface trails that take you through the nature conservation section and up close to wildlife. This new trail, added to the other trails, now provides over two miles of trails at Lake Kyle.
