Coronavirus cases see an overnight spike
Positive COVID-19 cases shot up by 27 in the Wednesday report of the Hays County Health Department, bring the total to 492 confirmed cases. Some 230 remain active, while 257 have recovered. There have been 4,580 negative tests.
The county’s fatality toll stands at five, with 10 people currently hospitalized out of 39 who have been.
The 20 to 29 year old age group continues to have had the most positive cases at 156. All the fatalities have been in persons 60 years old or older
