The Moe & Gene Johnson High School dance teams earned numerous awards this past weekend at the MA Dance contest hosted by the Hays Highsteppers at Hays High School.

By Gavin Resendez Lopez BUDA — Since moving to 6A in 2022, the Moe & Gene Johnson High School boys basketball team has been seeing major success, winning its district title in the 2022-23 season and starting this season near the top of the district, once again.

Staff Report KYLE — Hays CISD hosted Hays History Day at Johnson High School in an effort to showcase the numerous projects completed by students throughout the district on Jan.

‘They're playing for something bigger than themselves. They're playing for their family. They're playing for the school. They are playing for this community.’

For Hays CISD band director Joey Lucita, music is his favorite thing, both listening to it and taking part in creating it. Nothing brings him more happiness than watching his band students perform. From the daily grind practices to state competitions, this is his passion.
