BUDA — City of Buda residents were invited to take part in meetings held on the Old Black Colony Water Tank project — a proposal to construct a new elevated water storage tank on property associated with Whispering Hollow Park.

— On May 1, several students in the Hays CISD fine arts programs were recognized in the company of friends and family at the Performing Arts Center for their commitment to continue their education in the arts at the collegiate level.

Johnson High School hosted its Decision Day on May 5 for seniors to celebrate their future and show off their school pride to the university or future path of their choice.

— Six graduating seniors were named winners of the Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) essay competition.

— The safety and security of students has been a continuous topic of discussion for school districts across Texas, including Hays CISD.

BUDA — Upon entering Johnson High School on Saturday April 22, real-life princesses in ball gowns opened the doors and music from a simpler time played through the sound system. Turning the corner to enter the cosmetology center, where the event would be taking place, the music became muffled by laughter and talks of who each other’s favorite princesses were.

— The local winners for Kyle VFW Post 12058’s art and singing contest have been announced.
