WIMBERLEY — Watching stories unfold and students’ dreams come true from the stage is not new for Bridget Gates.

Staff Report DRIPPING SPRINGS — This spring, the Hill Country Alliance (HCA) is calling on anyone with a camera to share their view of this iconic region and its many inhabitants in the 2023 Hill Country Photo Contest “Home in the Hill Country.”

— Every nine minutes, a person is added to the National Transplant Waiting List, and every day, 17 people die because the organ they need is not donated in time. In Hays County, efforts are being made to encourage more residents to register as organ donors to help save lives.

HAYS COUNTY — Each year, up to one billion birds fatally crash into windows as they migrate across the United States. The local community has the power to greatly reduce this number by turning off nonessential lights.

HAYS COUNTY — A mobile vaccination clinic will soon roll through Hays County to give residents an opportunity to get vaccinated without having to travel far or schedule an inoffice visit.

KYLE — A few seats on the Hays CISD Board of Trustees are up for grabs in the upcoming election.

The Buda Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the 3rd Annual Buda Bogey Classic on Monday, April 17 at Onion Creek Club. Twenty-four four-person teams competed for bragging rights. The U.S. Foods team, consisting of Richard Boone, Meredith Schaffer, Jack Fennel and Jeanine Kennedy took first place. “We would like to thank our sponsors. Due to their generous contributions, this was the best Buda Bogey Classic yet,” K.C. Watson, assistant executive director of the Buda Area Chamber of Commerce, said.

KYLE — Bryan Langley has been named the sole candidate for the position of Kyle city manager. City council voted unanimously in a special meeting on Friday, April 13 to approve Langley for the position following a strenous search involving 69 candidates.
