— Residents will soon have another option for their chiropractic needs in Kyle.

– Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Buda is undergoing renovations to make more space for patients and families.

On Friday, Feb. 17, the Tigers traveled to Westlake High School and played the Anderson High School Trojans. This was a one game playoff to determine who would advance to the UIL 6A playoffs. The Tigers started off strong and led at the half by the score of 20 to 14.

In their first year in Class 6A, coach Michael Kane and the Lady Tigers defeated Lake Travis 3-2 to win the regional and went on to win the 6A State Championship, Kane’s second and the school’s third state title.

On Saturday, Feb. 18, the Tigers hosted their 28th Annual Track Meet at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers hosted more than 15 area high schools, 100 coaches and 1,000 athletes.

— In its first year in Class 6A, the Dripping Springs High School Aquatics team of Athena Turner, Macie McCurry and sisters Anna and Laurel Hoskovec qualified to compete in the Girls 400 Freestyle Relay at the UIL State Swimming and Diving Championships, held in the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. The road to state is long, beginning in mid-September with the Tiger Pentathlon and culminating on Saturday, Feb. 18 in Austin.

KYLE — Almost every community has a chamber of commerce and the role it plays in growing and supporting the local business community is vital.

— As the Kyle Chamber of Commerce pointed out, there is something to be said about a business that opens its third successful location in three years.

— A local foundation expert provided tips for residents who may still be in the process of recovering their homes from the recent ice storm.

You never know when you’re going to find your calling.

— On Saturday, Feb. 11, the Wimberley High School UIL Academic and Speech & Debate teams competed at a local meet hosted by Hays High School. The school dominated the overall competition, winning first place sweepstakes with a total of 473 points.

— Having tough but much-needed conversations will encourage progress and create peace, which is the idea behind Kyle’s triannual dialogue series.
