Wimberley Texans prevail over Lampasas
—Wimberley Texans quarterback Cody Stoever passed for 217 yards, reaching the 1,000 yards mark in five games, completed 21 of 28 passes, with four of those for touchdowns in helping the Texans (5-0) earn a 41-20 win over the visiting Lampasas High School Badgers (4-1) on Homecoming night on Friday, Sept. 22.

Wimberley High School volleyball earns shutout win at Fredericksburg
— The Wimberley High School varsity volleyball team took a 3-2 win when Fredericksburg forced the match to five games in the Texans 4A District 27 home opener last year. It was not to be in this year’s district home opener for the two teams in Fredericksburg on Friday, Sept. 8.

Wimberley gave up some big plays, but only a total of 164 yards and limited Pieper to only 6 points in the first of three games on the road for the Texans, who came away with a 44-6 non-district win on Friday, Sept. 1 in San Antonio.

Wimberley Texans dominate in season opener
— The Wimberley Texans scored in every way possible in a game of football in their home opener against Canyon Lake on Friday, Aug. 25. The Texans ended the game with a 60-6 win over the Hawks, who scored their only touchdown on a 72-yard run with 2:28 remaining in the game. After the Hawks opening kickoff, quarterback Cody Stoever set the tone leading the Texans 72 yards in 12 plays and ran the ball in for the first of three rushing touchdowns, totaling 48 yards on 12 carries.

Wimberley’s goal is to go back to State
Last year’s sophomore quarterback Cody Stoever helped lead the Wimberley Texans to AT&T Stadium for the State Championship, but it was a short and somber celebration after a 42-0 loss to Carthage (16-0) as Wimberley (15-1) held up the UIL State Football Championship Runnerup trophy in Class 4A Division II in Arlington. Carthage claimed its ninth State Football Championship with the win.

Wimberley HS track seniors earn gold
Staff Report AUSTIN — On Thursday, May 11, Wimberley High School seniors Emily Thames and Gabriel Wray closed out their record-setting track and field careers by winning gold medals at the UIL State meet in Austin. Wray later added a bronze medal in triple jump, which is his third state horizontal jumps medal in two years.
