By Wayland D. Clark SAN ANTONIO — The Wimberley High School football team and its fans were stunned after the opening kickoff when Ingleside High School's Nate Ambrose ran 77 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the game in the 4A Region IV Semifinals at Heroes Stadium on Friday, Nov. 24.

For the second time in three years, the Wimberley High School Tennis team has claimed the UIL 4A Team Tennis State Championship.

The Wimberley High School Texans remain undefeated in district play after securing a 4820 win over the Navarro High School Panthers at an away game on Friday, Oct. 20.

Staff Report WIMBERLEY — The Wimberley High School Speech and Debate Team traveled to La Vernia for the East Central Hornet Hijinks and the La Vernia Bear Brawl Tournaments on Sept. 8 and 9. The two competitions were the first two tournaments of the season for WHS.

— The Wimberley High School varsity volleyball team took a 3-2 win when Fredericksburg forced the match to five games in the Texans 4A District 27 home opener last year. It was not to be in this year’s district home opener for the two teams in Fredericksburg on Friday, Sept. 8.
