Staff report
The city of Kyle will begin repairs on selected sections of existing curbs, gutters and sidewalks on Masonwood Drive between Goforth Road and Lehman Road.
According to a notice given to approximately 90 residents on Masonwood Drive, the work is slated to begin April 11. Cost of the project is $297,234.50.
Residents can expect road closures, detours and traffic delays on Masonwood during construction. According to the city, the contract is only for 30 days.
City Engineer Leon Barba said contractor Angel Brothers Enterprise, LTD will place message boarg signs at each end of the project.
The signs will remain in place while the work is being performed and will provide notice to property owners and residents as the work progresses.
Barba said in the release once the spot repairs are made, the asphalt near the curb line will ground off in order to have a better transition for the new additional layer of asphalt.
Residents along Masonwood are asked to use caution when driving through construction sites, and are asked to keep vehicles off the street as much as possible. That extends to areas near a spot repair area or when the curb line milling and the overlay are behind done.
Because of potential detours, residents are also asked to allow for extra travel time.
