With the total solar eclipse coming in just a little more than three weeks, the city of Dripping Springs and the Community Eclipse Task Force are preparing for the eclipse, and the anticipated influx of visitors, to ensure that all areas of the city are as prepared as possible.
On Saturday, March 23, Chicken Express will sponsor the 8th Annual Basketball Classic at Fredericksburg High School. The high school boys and girls all-star teams will draw players from throughout the Hill Country, chosen from approximately 30 high schools, according to a press release.

Dripping Springs High School seniors Luke Bohan and William Johns were selected as National Merit Finalists in the 69th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors are recognized with this prestigious honor.

The Dripping Springs Lady Tigers soccer team hosted the Johnson High School Jaguars on Feb. 20 at Tiger Stadium. The final score was Jaguars 2, Tigers 1. The Tigers are currently sixth place in district and the Jaguars are in second place. The Tigers next home game will be March 5, where they will host the Del Valle High School Cardinals.
In Dripping Springs High School’s second year competing in class 6A, the girls swim team of freshman Izzy Boldrick, sophomore Laurel Hoskovec, junior Macie McCurry and senior Anna Hoskovec earned a 14th place finish at the UIL State Swimming and Diving Meet at the University of Texas Swim Center in Austin, held Feb. 23 and 24.
