Clark DRIPPING SPRINGS — On Tuesday, Feb. 27, two high school softball teams frustrated each other for seven scoreless innings before Dripping Springs’ freshman pinch runner Morgan Riley crossed the plate, scoring the winning run from third base on a passed ball for a 2-1 win over visiting Bowie.

Texans Baseball tops Tigers with 3 runs in 9th inning WIMBERLEY — Wimberley traveled to face Dripping Springs in a scrimmage baseball game on Monday, Feb. 12 and went home with a 5-2 victory after shutting out the Tigers in six straight innings.

The Dripping Springs Tigers hosted their 29th Annual Tiger Relays on Saturday, Feb. 17, with 11 area schools competing.

SAN ANTONIO — The Dripping Springs Tigers varsity football team advanced to the UIL 6A D2 Region 4 Finals, which took place at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Saturday, Dec. 2, against the Steele High School Knights. While the Tigers made a tremendous fight, they fell short 21-28.

By Albert Sanchez SAN ANTONIO — On Saturday, Nov. 25, the Dripping Springs Tigers traveled to the Alamodome and faced the John Jay High School Mustangs in the regionals of the UIL 6A D2 playoffs, where they would come out with a 50-27 win.

DRIPPING SPRINGS — The Dripping Springs Tigers football team secured a 52-17 win over the Anderson High School Trojans at its latest home game on Friday night.

On Saturday, Nov. 4, the Dripping Springs Tigers returned for their 10th consecutive appearance at the UIL State Cross Country Championship held at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

— The Dripping Springs Tigers varsity football team secured a 49-12 win over the Bowie High School Bulldogs at their latest home game on Friday, Sept. 22.

Clark DRIPPING SPRINGS — “It hurts, and it should hurt,” Dripping Springs head coach Galen Zimmerman told the team, “You’ve worked hard and invested a lot, but don’t let this diminish what you guys accomplished this season.” Those were the words Zimmerman said to his team after a bitter 27-24 season ending loss last year to Vandegrift High School Vipers in a 6A Division II Quarterfinal. The Tigers had a fourth down and less than a yard to score a go-ahead touchdown with 1:55 in the game and fumbled.

By Wayland D. Clark DRIPPING SPRINGS — The most talented softball high school seniors in the Central Texas area will compete in the 23rd Annual Austin Area All-Star Game, which will be played at the Dripping Springs ISD softball field at 7 p.m. on June 7.

By Wayland D. Clark DRIPPING SPRINGS — Dripping Springs’ head softball coach Wade Womack and Johnson’s head coach Katy Snell shared Coach of the Year honors. Seniors Taylor Anderson, shortstop, earned Most Valuable Player and Jordan Cox was named Pitcher of the Year.

Clark AUSTIN — Dripping Springs’ Ava Williamson started her practice jumps in a steady light rain as the field events began at the UIL State Track & Field meet on Saturday morning in Austin. Williamson and other competitors in the 6A High Jump event tried not to let it affect them. The UIL and stadium operations workers did all they could to keep the surface dry with squeegee rollers and leaf blowers, but the weather had other ideas.
