Dripping Springs High School cross country advances eight to regional meet
Eight Dripping Springs High School cross country runners qualified for the Region IV-6A Meet after the girls team placed second, and Wes Anderson qualified individually, at the District 26-6A Championship on Thursday, Oct. 12 at Walter E. Long Park in Austin.

Former Tiger stops Dripping Springs again
Westlake High School head coach Tony Salazar excelled in sports as a student at Dripping Springs from 19961999, when he played basketball, baseball, football and ran track and his name can be found in the school’s athletic records. As a head coach, Salazar holds another record; in Dripping Springs’ second year in class 6A, his Westlake teams are 2-0 against the Tigers.

With a 48-0 win, the Dripping Springs Tigers shutout the Akins High School Eagles on Homecoming Night on Friday, Oct. 6 — but the festivities started earlier in the week for the Tigers with a campus parade and a pep rally and carnival last Wednesday.

Dripping Springs Lady Tigers in second round of district
WIMBERLEY — After a 3-1 loss to Lake Travis, the Dripping Springs Lady Tigers volleyball team 40-3 (9-1) have three consecutive shutouts over Bowie High School, Del Valle High School and, most recently, Johnson High School last Friday night. Dripping Springs will host Akins at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 6.

Dripping Springs Tigers have high expectations for second year of 6A

Clark DRIPPING SPRINGS — “It hurts, and it should hurt,” Dripping Springs head coach Galen Zimmerman told the team, “You’ve worked hard and invested a lot, but don’t let this diminish what you guys accomplished this season.” Those were the words Zimmerman said to his team after a bitter 27-24 season ending loss last year to Vandegrift High School Vipers in a 6A Division II Quarterfinal. The Tigers had a fourth down and less than a yard to score a go-ahead touchdown with 1:55 in the game and fumbled.
